ANSWERS TO RECENT QUESTIONS FROM GREAT NMI PRESIDENTS
QUESTION:  Where can I find a short video about our Links Missionaries, Russell & Karla Frazier
ANSWER:  Go to etnmi.org/Care and Connection  There are several videos, made by the Fraziers on their FB page. However, none of these videos are about the Fraziers, but ones taken BY them.

Q:  How can I send monetary gift to Fraziers for Christmas WITH 10% CHURCH CREDIT?
A:  If you choose to send in a check from your local church, do not make checks payable to your missionary. Such gifts run contrary to IRS guidelines. Instead, make it payable to Global Treasury Services with “[Missionary Name(s)] Links” in the memo line. Mail it to P.O. Box 843116 Kansas City, MO 64184-3116.
Give online using Funding the Mission – Use the Funding the Mission page at<https://fundingthemission.org/. Note “[Missionary Name]’s Links” in the memo for the gift.

QUESTION:Where can I find good lesson resources for November/ Thanksgiving offering?
1.  You’ll find two excellent videos, as well as links to other resources at the bottom of that page:
“Global Missions” 2:48 minutes-great for Sunday morning “mission moment”
“Blessing” 4:47 minutes, a little longer,  but WELL worth the time!
To preview “Blessing”

2.  If you have an NMI service, with time available for a lesson, you may want to consider:
NMI Central Lesson: Germany at etnmi.org/resources;  serve many types of bread
This lesson features Dr. Carla Sunberg, outstanding General Superintendent
3.  Thank your church for giving, using attached table tents, placed around your church following the offering.

READ THIS FROM OUR E TN  MISSIONARY, JOSHUA HAUN, QUOTING HIS SON, JUDE…YOU WILL BE BLESSED!
We really have been so blessed and amazed at the generosity and care we continue to receive from people who are excited with us about our ministry and our personal blessing of welcoming another little boy into our family. It has been incredible! We are so thankful for the people of ET. Last night after our Bible story Jude prayed and said, “Lord, please give all of our family in East Tennessee a great day tomorrow.” We speak daily about the love of our ET family.
The Hauns have been communicating their deputation commitments with me, and I will have the commitments already made posted on our district NMI calendar by next Wednesday.  We should also have a new video, that Joshua & Katie are working on, at that same time.

WHAT’S UP? I apologize for the lack of a newsletter last week.  I’m thankful for those who have asked “What’s Up?”
I was a presenter at the USA/Canada District Presidents’ meeting in Cincinnati last week…coming home last Wednesday, with plans to send out a newsletter as soon as I got home.  However, the trip from Cincinnati that should have been about 6 hours was plagued with construction, so it took 10 hours!
WHY WAS THE E TN DISTRICT NMI PRESIDENT ASKED TO SPEAK AT SUCH AN EVENT?
It was not because of me, but because  TN has a GREAT district council!  They work together seamlessly, without concern over who gets the credit.
When Mission Education coordinator, Anita Adkins was asked to create a Ppt. lesson using NMI Central, she created not one, but five great lessons, presented to NMI presidents at our workshop at district assembly. More lessons will come online soon!
Then District VP/webmaster, Debbie Blair posted all those lessons under the Resources tab at

http://etnmi.org/resources/

When Global NMI  learned about our resources, I was asked to present about mission education at the USA/Canada NMI Presidents’ meeting.  Praise the Lord for our great district NMI council.

PRAISE FOR ANOTHER COUNCIL MEMBER, JOHN BUTLER & HIS GREAT HELPERS AT DISTRICT NMI CONVENTION
The deputation offerings, for Rob North, $4,065 & Joshua Haun, $6,276, received at District NMI Convention were awesome!
When I recently learned that no deputation credit for any church had been given, I knew I could depend on John Butler’s records to get this corrected at Global Treasury services.
John ALWAYS  sends ALL offerings to GTS within hours, but he first takes photos of the checks & the accurate lists of churches & their offering.  So, after a long phone call to GTS, & resending John’s great documentation, we were told  that it could take several weeks, but that ALL churches would receive the appropriate credit, and THAT IT WOULD APPEAR UNDER POINT TO POINT GIVING.
The last of the credit postings appeared on Funding the Mission the week after I returned from USA/Canada NMI Meeting.
I’ve carefully checked EVERY  offering from EVERY  church, and can assure you that credit has been granted for EVERY offering.
I can also assure you that this giving will make your apportionments for this year go down, not up.

APPRECIATING PASTORS – EURASIA NORTH FIELD
PLEASE READ & SHARE ATTACHED REPORT FROM PASTORS IN UKRAINE

The attached report is from Missionary Trino Jaro, Superintendent of the Eurasia North Field.  His field includes both Russian and Ukraine, as well as Armania, Belorussioa, Georgia, Latvia, and Moldova, and two Creative Access Countries in Central Asia.  This report, with stories of God’s amazing movement and grace, in the midst of extreme loss, is one that needs to be shared with our US churches.  Please share these stories and pictures with your people, but DO NOT POST THEM ON FACE BOOK….and please continue to pray for all in the Eurasia North Field.

He begins his amazing report with this dedication:  “We want to dedicate this report to the journey of the Church of the Nazarene in Ukraine. Through pictures we would like to share with you how the church is coping with the tragedy this nation is facing. Lord continues blessing His precious church with resilience and we continue to hope that this situation will pass and His precious name will be glorified. Five months ago, Kiev and other cities were bombed killing thousands and our churches became refugee centers for hundreds of people or humanitarian AID storages. ...

HE THEN INCLUDES DRAMATIC PHOTOS TOO NUMEROUS TO INCLUDE IN THIS TEXT…. DON’T MISS THE ATTACHED REPORT FOR PICTURES FROM INDIVIDUAL CHURCHES IN UKRAINE AND SURROUNDING COUNTRIES!

Crisis Care Kits for Hurricane Victims in Florida
Several churches have inquired about CCKs for Florida.  I’ve had a request for them from S FL District NMI President, whose Disaster Relief teams wouldeliver them.  However, it’s premature for us to try to send anything to Florida until our Nazarene Disaster Relief Team is able to get into the area to work and to deliver supplies.  At this point, we’re don’t know if CCKs or other materials, such as bottled water, non-perishable foods, cleanings supplies might be more needed.  We will certainly keep you posted as information comes available.

Meanwhile, to give to support Hurricane Ian relief efforts,  go to:

Great idea using General Church Newsletter: include prayer for the country whose flag is flying over Global Headquarters in corporate prayer with your church each week.

Some of our churches have had questions,  addressed in the NMI Constitution, found here:
The NMI Constitution is a section of the 2017-2021 Manual, and is posted on E TN District NMI website under Resources tab.

Care & Connection/Links
Recently, a mission-passionate friend asked me if we would no longer have the Haun’s as “Links” missionaries since we have received our assignment of the Fraziers as “Links”.  I was pleased to be able to bless him with the assurance that the Hauns will always  be “E TN SENT MISSIONARIES”,  even though our assigned “Links” missionaries will change yearly.
A “Little Brother” is to Arrive in the Haun Missionary
Family in December!

We are among the districts who are privileged to have sent missionaries from our district, and OUR missionaries are loving the fact that their SENDING district will always love and support them.  If you haven’t watched the beautiful THANK YOU video on the Haun’s August newsletter, here it is!  THANK YOU  It also tells us that the Hauns will have another precious little boy!

I’ve had inquires about sending gifts for the new baby, so I messaged Katie Haun on your behalf.  Here’s her response:   “We are able to purchase furniture items for the baby through deputation (only a crib, changing table, and dresser).  Everything else will be paid for personally.  We will have to purchase a stroller, car seat, high chair, baby bedding, clothes, swing, etc., personally.

PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FOR POSTAL MAILING
ADDRESS & INFORMATION ABOUT MAILING
With the cost of sending packages to Bulgaria, more could be given financially without calculating in postage, but I also know many like to pick out items & know what they are buying.  Either option is great for us and would be so welcomed…Generally, anything would be nice.  Clothes, baby toiletries, diapers, wipes, swaddles, bibs, burb cloths, etc.  The baby won’t be born until December so 0-3 months should get us through winter months.  If they send packages…the sooner the better is best because it will be a month or two process to get the package released.  The biggest thing is that we will need tracking numbers for anything that’s sent so we can actually receive the package. “
Sending monetary gift:  DO NOT SEND TO JOHN BUTLER, BUT FOLLOW GUIDELINES BELOW:
Deputation Account:  donate through your church’s FTM account, or
send check, written to Global Treasurer, Church of the Nazarene;  write Joshua Haun Deputation Account on memo;  write your church’s name, district, and church # under signature.
Personal Gift:  the best way to send personal funds is through Venmo account – if you need information,  private message me.
Do not send cash or personal check through mail to Bulgaria.
SINCERE APOLOGY

This caption “Turn up the volume has been added to the FB video recording of our 8/27/22 NMI Workshop.  It should help listeners hear.  I apparently spoke too softly (& too quickly).  Thanks so much to anyone who patiently tried to hear!  I appreciate your kindness.

QUESTION  FROM WORKSHOP GUEST:   How can churches receive NCM magazine by mail?   Go to

https://ncm.org/stories/magazine/subscribe

and follow prompts to “Bulk Church Subscription”.   You’ll be directed through process for ordering free quarterly NCM periodicals by mail at your church.
