PRAYER REQUESTED…PRAYER ANSWERED!
Recent heavy rains caused concrete truck, delivering the concrete for the foundation for our “Valentines for Jesus” dormitory on the South Border District in Tapachula, Mexico, to overturn and spill its contents.  The district asked that we help them pray for another load of concrete soon.  Before I could even share the request with you, it was ANSWERED!  Yesterday, another load of concrete was delivered, and the foundation was poured!  It will be exciting to watch the dormitory being built!

PLEASE CONTINUE TO LEAD YOUR PEOPLE IN PRAYER FOR THE EURASIA NORTH FIELD.  SHARE THE PRAISES & REQUESTS ON  UKRAINE UPDATE WITH YOUR CHURCH:

IT’S MAY18:   GETTING READY  FOR JUNE,  WITH ONLY ONE MORE NMI NEWSLETTER IN MAY!

June is the month for World Mission Broadcast & preparing CCKs to bring to District NMI Convention

In 2021, Nazarenes gave US $292,638 to World Mission Broadcast (WMB),  providing radio, television, and internet programs to share the gospel. Click  here  for information and to connect with WMB.

Links:  Why change…change is uncomfortable!
It has become evident that Links, alone, is not enough…the program, as we’ve known it for many years, is too small & restrictive to efficiently care for all Nazarene Missionaries.
Please read this newsletter carefully.  It contains a LOT of new information.

As always: Newsletters are archived at  http://etnmi.org/category/newsletter/

In the last 3 years (present Links assignment time period), 47% of USA/Canada had one or more Links assignment change.  E TN “lost” Norma Brunson, our retired missionary, since retirees were only given one year on the Links program after retirement; we “lost” the Webbs when they accepted a church assignment in TX, on US/Mexico border.  Even though Norma Brunson & the Webbs were no longer “official” Links, we have kept connection:  birthday card shower for Norma Brunson, and Valentines for Jesus project connected to South Border District  in Mexico, where the Webbs served.  That left us with Chad Dickerson, with whom many on our district formed a beautiful bond.
PRAY FOR CHAD AND LINDSEY…TOMORRROW, MAY 12, IS THEIR WEDDING DAY!
E TN also had the amazing privilege of sending Joshua & Katie Haun to Bulgaria as Global Missionaries, so we were blessed to adopt them as Links missionaries…because we sent them, not because they were assigned to us.

NEW GLOBAL LINKS POLICY
1.  The [new] Links cycle length will follow the calendar year (January-December).
All districts, all over the world (not only US) will receive Links assignment sometime this month (MAY)           Then, new Links policy goes into effect.  This FIRST year of the new Links program, all districts will have
the same Links missionary from July 2022-January 2024.  After January 2024, all districts will be on
the 12 month cycle, and will receive new Links assignments each January.

2.  Each district will automatically be connected to SENT missionaries from their distirct (HAUNS, from E TN)
What a blessing!  E TN is in the minority of districts with SENT missionaries from their district, and
oursare  GREAT!  The Hauns are some of the best communicators in Global Missions.

3.  In addition, each district will be assigned ONE globally deployed missionary.
As soon as we are assigned our new Links missionary, E TN NMI will contact them to learn birthdays,
etc., family  connections, and facts about their assignment.  That will be shared with you ASAP.  The
fact that, unlike most  other districts, we will have our NMI convention AFTER receiving our
assignment, will be helpful!  Retired missionaries, who meet Global Missions requirements as a
retiree, are to be provided care from their home district.

4.  All financial gifts will go the through DEPUTATION account.
There will be no Links accounts, due to issues with US tax laws.

5. All personal gifts will be processed directly between the missionary and the giver. Tax laws & procedures will be the  responsibility of the giver and the missionary.
I have shared, on weekly newsletters, how to send personal gifts to the Hauns. I will do that with new            Links as  soon  as we have the information.

6.  Each Global missionary will have an assignment that will rotate around the six regions every cycle.
This means our newly assigned Links missionary could be a missionary sent from a country other that
       the US!

MISSION EDUCATION/ WAYS TO USE NMI CENTRAL TO BE ADDRESSED  AT AN NMI WORKSHOP AT DISTRICT NMI CONVENTION
Watch for time and location in upcoming District NMI Newsletters

Mission Education Materials          Attachment: Order Blank
As you can see, from the attached order blank, there are no adult missionary education materials  available for order.  Our world is changing so rapidly that materials can be out of date by the time they published.

Mission Education materials have been replaced by NMI Central, a free weekly email publication focusing on the work of the Church of the Nazarene. Every week, prayer needs and praise reports will be listed, as well as ways you can get involved. This  challenging change can  be an opportunity for NMI presidents to reach more of our people.  NMI Central can be used as a tool to help our people learn about and pray together  for a different mission area each week, whether they are gathered in person or praying individually.
When you subscribe, a weekly email will come to your inbox each Wednesday.  To subscribe, click here:

You will want to see & share today’s NMI Central at

https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1/messages/230062

It features Cabo Verde, the home of Dr. Eugenio Duarte, who will be our presiding general superintendent at our District Assembly this year!

See the archive of all NMI Central publications here.  Choose the English folder;  all publications, except last week’s entry, Muldova, are there.  I assume that will be added ASAP.

 Missionary Reading Books
In lieu of missionary reading books, three books are available for purchase: “Almost,” by Dr. Gustavo Crocker, “Color,” by Dr. Carla Sunberg, and
“Way, Truth, Live,” by Dr. David Busic.  A children’s reading book set is available for purchase. The 2022 version of children’s study material is also available for purchase.

NMI REPORTS:  CCK Reporting Different than in the Past, due to Mid-year Collection for War Victims in Ukraine
When reporting Crisis Care Kits on missionary president’s report, please:
Put number of boxes sent to Ukraine in April, and add “U” beside number  and/or
Put number of boxes you anticipate bringing to District NMI Convention in Cleveland, and add “C” for Cleveland
While you are more than welcome to bring CCKs to Cleveland, even if you’ve already sent them to Ukraine, but your are not expected to do so.
Many of our churches were not able to get boxes together on short notice for Ukraine in April, & have asked that they can bring to Cleveland
The “U” for Ukraine & “C” for Cleveland designation or report will give us some idea of what to plan on at district convention.
CRISIS CARED KITS BROUGHT TO DISTRICT NMI CONVENTION WILL BE STORED ON THE THE DISTRICT, TO BE AVAILABLE FOR  DISASTERS SUCH AS TORNADOS or FLOODS ON THE SE REGION.  THESE ARE FREQUENTLY NEEDED!

Valentines for Jesus final Total Offering

ETN District NMI Treasurer, John Butler has check prepared to send to Global Treasury Services, tomorrow, April 14.  Any Valentines for Jesus offerings received after today, April 13, will be held for NEXT year’s project.

NEXT YEAR’S PROJECT WILL BE ANNOUNCED FIRST TO OUR CHILDREN AT
MISSION JAMBOREE “MEXICAN FIESTA” AT CHILDREN’S CAMP, MONDAY, JUNE 13!
All attendees must be registered campers or workers.
May Celebrations are Coming Up Soon
While at Tullahoma First, speaking for their faith promise service this past Sunday, I was delighted to see, in their bulletin, that they were collecting funds for a 4th birthday gift for Missionary Kid, Jude Haun, son of missionaries Joshua and Katie Haun.  Judes’ birthday is April 19.  How wonderful, for Tullahoma 1st, not only to encourage their people to give liberally to Easter offering, but also to remember birthdays of missionaries’ children.

If you need a reminder of when/how to send birthday gifts, or other personal gifts to the Hauns, please see instructions on attachment:  May Missionary Celebration

Wedding Gifts for Chad and Lindsey
Several NMI presidents have inquired about how to send an offering, as wedding gift for Missionary Chad Dickerson.  The easiest way, for which your church will receive credit:  send check to Global Treasury Services, with Chad Dickerson-Links missionary on the memo line; then send an email to Chad Dickerson, informing him of your gift, so he’ll be able to identify the donor.     Chad’s email:  cdickerson@samnaz.org
THIS MUST BE RECEIVED BY GTS  BEFORE APRIL 30.

After April 30, Chad’s Links account will no longer be available, but you can send a gift through the attached wedding registry.
We will be assigned new Links missionaries May 1.
