FROM GREAT E TN NMI PRESIDENTS

This optional opportunity was on our ET NMI President’s online report:
“Please share how your church ministered cross-culturally (locally or internationally).
While this is not a requirement, we would love to hear your stories and share them with our district.”

Each week, we feature a local president’s response.
This week, we are featuring the response from Jan Stone, Barfield Church of the Nazarene:
We minister to our local public school (Barfield Elementary) by giving snacks to impoverished children, helping families in need, and providing school resources. We are also partnering with the Isaiah 1:17 Project in our local community, serving by cleaning/yard work, providing needed items, and volunteering with the children. Our children have done projects of encouragement to others, and our people give willingly of time, resources, and money when a need arises

Pray for Nazarene Church in Odesa, Struck by Missile

Our Nazarene Church in Odesa (Ukraine)  was hit in a missile attack on Sunday 23rd July. On Tuesday, the church members gathered to start repairs.

Our church in Odesa has been tirelessly working to serve their community and other areas devastated by the war.  We want to do all we can to help our churches through this time. They have been a brilliant light in the midst of this terrible darkness.

FROM GREAT NMI PRESIDENTS

This optional question was on our ETNMI President’s report:
“Please share how your church ministered cross-culturally (locally or internationally).
While this is not a requirement, we would love to hear your stories and share them with our district.”
One of the responses will be shared on the newsletter each week, beginning with:

Cleveland New Hope, NMI President-Ann McAllister:

“We as a church support a Child Sponsorship. Gave $360.00 this year. We did lessons differently this year. We chose a mission country for our theme each month. We then brought covered dishes made from recipes that country enjoys. Examples, Polish food for Poland, Italian for Italy. Greek food even. We had fun Wednesday NMI meetings each month.”
Today’s NMI Central was GREAT! The praise in red text below is from the “NMI Snapshot” section, with lots of photos.  All of this could be shared with YOUR church so they could praise God together!

“The Church of the Nazarene in Barbados has already completed two evangelism conferences and two major outreach events in the first half of 2023.”

75th Anniversary of Alabaster
NMI is entering into a yearlong celebration, June 2023 – June 2024, where every church, everywhere, will participate in giving to Alabaster at some time during this anniversary year. To help churches encourage giving, in the third week of NMI Central during this 13-month period, rather than highlighting a country, we will share an Alabaster video. Stories of changed lives, stories of sacrifice, stories of Kingdom impact.

To download a video to introduce the Alabaster 75th Anniversary celebration, click: here

Kids’ Mission Jamboree – Another Year of Great Blessing!

Thank you, E TN District Children’s Ministry, for welcoming NMI to Children’s Camp year after year!  Monday night, E TN NMI was blessed again, with the opportunity to open children’s camp with the Kids Mission Jamboree.  Dr. Geneva Silvernail held campers spellbound with her story about an African Bush clinic.  Campers then rotated through 8 different “mission stations.”  When a downpour made us bring all the campers under the tabernacle, I expected chaos, but was blessed with amazing staff leaders and super cooperative campers enjoying “adapted mission activities’.
Watch for great KIDS MISSION VIDEO, at District NMI Convention, and coming soon at http://etnmi.org/east-tn-kids-resources/
